Store

How can I accept donations in my store?

You have a couple options to accept donations in your Big Cartel store. You could add different products for certain donation amounts (Ex: $10 Donation, $25 Donation, etc.), or if you’re using our Platinum or Diamond plan, you could copy and paste a PayPal donation button into your store’s HTML.

Can I reset my dashboard stats?

If you’ve been developing your store for a little while, you’d probably like to clear out all your stats before you officially launch. We’ve made this easy:

  1. From your dashboard, click Reset Stats in the far bottom right corner.
  2. Select the stats you wish to erase. Be careful, this is instant and permanent.
  3. Click the Reset button. Gone!

How does the dashboard work?

Your store’s dashboard gives you a snapshot of what your store is doing right now. Here are a few things it offers:

News

At the top of the dashboard you’ll see the Big Cartel news ticker. This will link you to our blog where we discuss the latest Big Cartel news and features.

Orders

Shows you all the orders you’ve received. It tells you who ordered from you, when the order was placed, and gives you a link to view the order details in PayPal.

Visitors

Shows you how many people have visited your store every day for the last week, and every week for the last 6 weeks. *

Referrers

Shows you which websites are linking to your store, how many people have used that link in all (not just today), and when the link was last used. You can sort this list by the most used or the most recent. *

Searches

Shows you the terms people are searching with to find your store, how many people have used the search term in all (not just today), and when the term was last used. You can sort this list by the most used or the most recent. *

Views

Lists your products by the number of times they’ve been viewed. *

Sold Out

Lists all products that are currently marked as “Sold Out”.

* Does it count my own stats?

No. While you’re logged into the admin, your visits aren’t recorded.

How does the checkout process work?

After your customers have added your products to their cart, and they click “Checkout”, here’s what happens:

  1. Big Cartel sends all order info to PayPal where your customer pays with a credit card or with their PayPal account.
  2. Your customer is taken back to your store and a message is displayed thanking them for their order.
  3. You receive an email from PayPal telling you who bought something, what they’ve bought, and how much they’ve paid you.

How do I use my own domain?

All Platinum and Diamond accounts support custom domain mapping. This lets you change your store URL from the default example.bigcartel.com to just about anything.

If you’ve already setup your domain, but it’s still not working, troubleshoot it to see what the problem is.
