Your goods are unique. They come in a variety of sizes, shapes, colors, styles - you name it. With product option groups, you can create groups like size, color, or cut and add variations of each like small, medium, black, white, v-neck, or crew. Then voila, each option group will display in a separate list in your storefront, making it simple for your customers to select their perfect combo.
Need to add option groups to existing products that don’t include them yet? No sweat, you can use the nifty conversion tool to get those listings switched from single options to option groups.
Create option groups
Give your option group a name like size or color. For each option group you create, a separate list will display in your storefront.
Add your variations
Once you’ve created your option groups, you’ll want to enter the actual variations like small, medium, and large (for size) or red, white, and blue (for color). Each variation of your product will display in a list in the admin, and you can adjust the quantity or price of each item if needed.
Convert existing products
If you already have product listings with combined options, we’ve got you covered. The handy conversion tool will separate those combined options, so you’ll just need to give each option group a name. No need to start fresh with a new listing!
Display options in your storefront
Each option group that you enter will display in a separate list on your product pages in your storefront, and the variations can be selected from each list - pretty sweet!
Updating your current theme
If you’re a long-time shop owner and just switching over to option groups, you’ll need to make sure you are using the most current version of your theme. Once you’ve updated your theme, your different option groups will display in separate lists simplifying that selection process for your customers.
Heads up! To update, you’ll be re-applying the default themes, so it’s important to back up any custom changes you want to keep and add back in later. Once you hit Save, you can’t get the old version back, so be sure you’re ready!
